    WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS:

    10 - 12: Flamenco Essentials (May be taken alone)

    Explore the traditional vocabulary of “marcaje” (marking) to
    develop the body-melody of flamenco through floor patterning,
    “vueltas” (spitfire turns!), and “brazeo” – the body, arm, and
    hand movements which define flamenco as a powerfully expressive
    and sensuously passionate dance and which undergird the upper
    body movements and posture of American Tribal Style and Tribal
    Fusion. This class is perfect for both flamenco dancers wanting
    to focus on brazeo technique, marking and “aire”, as well as
    dancers wanting to expand their repertoire.

    1:30 - 3:30: Flamenco-Belly Dance Fusion (Prerequisite: The 1st Class!)

    A few more vueltas, and we go into blending the vocabularies of
    flamenco with belly dance. Playing with the fierceness and
    sensuality within ourselves, we’ll link fusion moves into
    patterns and stop ‘em dead in their tracks with flamenco accents!

    BOTH WORKSHOPS;

    realize and claim their potential through the power of ritual
    and dance.
