MILONGA IS NOT TANGO. It shares many similarities, but a few very important differences, and it actually predates tango.

    1) In tango, you may step on ANY beat. In Milonga you step on EVERY beat.

    2) There is no collection in Milonga, just steps

    3) The embrace is less elastic and designed to transmit the intention instantaneously. However, both tango and milonga share the same idea of connection.

All Levels welcome and encouraged to attend. We will be deconstructing and reconstructing milonga into the easy and fun dance it is. If you are a beginner, milonga is one of the 3 dances you will need to know to dance socially. It is playful, uncomplicated, rhythmic, and gets everyone smiling on the dance floor. If you have danced milonga before, you are welcome to enter this class with a beginner mind and find new ways to approach and enjoy the dance.

This set of classes is designed as a series. Each class will build on  information from the previous class, so please, no drop ins. If you must miss a class, please catch up with me at a practica so I can review the information so we all move forward together. (For a potential syllabus of information I want to cover, scroll down)

Review notes will be sent by email after each class.
